The days of a standalone Sat. Nav unit are dead, IMO. X)Proper offline maps. Google is fine in the UK, but unless you want to pay big money its no good for abroad and GPS accuracy can be a bit flakey on a lot of phones. As other people have said too it works the phone hard so they get red hot so not sure how that will effect the device long term. Dedicated devices are a bit less fiddly to use too. That said there are some good offline map programs for android like Nav.
